What is an active adult community?
Sometimes developers bill a new development as an “active adult community.” What does this mean? What’s an active adult community?
What’s an Active Adult Community?
It’s not that everyone in the community has to be active, but rather that the folks in the community are 55-years old or older and are still able to be independent and free as a bird! They’re in the prime of their lives and they’re being active in whatever ways they want to be active in.
Mostly because they’ve put in their time; they’ve earned the right to relax or play or sleep or do water aerobics.
Heck, they can play pickleball till the wee hours if they want.
“Active” means independent. Active adult communities do not offer assistive livings or personal care. Instead, they offer on-site activities for seniors that make it easy for them to do their activities, and also have fun and meet other people in their community. Nearly 85% of active adult communities are located near a city, which means that there’s much to do in the area and off-site.
And in our new Brookhaven community, we have pickleball courts for all you active adults out there.
Stop in or give us a call at 435-363-0100 and let us tell you why Brookhaven is the right community for active adults in Cache Valley!
